Gearing Up For The Holidays

The year is speeding its way to the end and before you know it, it will be the long awaited December Holiday's.

For many of us this is the time to kick back, relax and recharge our batteries. This does not always go according to our plans and we get ill on our holiday and in some cases it may even ruin our holiday.

Why does this happen?

During the year our bodies have been pushed to the brink and there is just no more energy reserves left to keep problems like colds, cold sores or urinary tract infections etcetera at bay. Our immune systems are already worn down and during our planned "down time" we further abuse our bodies by over indulging in the sweets and treats associated with this season and little to none of the good stuff the body needs to restock its stores. And so we again then enter the new year feeling rundown instead of energised.

So what can be done to decrease our chances of getting ill during our holiday? We can start by increasing our fruit and vegetable intake prior to our holiday and continue with the habit during our holiday to support our body with the vital vitamins and minerals we are so desperately lacking. Reduce our intake of refined sugar and processed foods which increase toxicity and inflammation in the body.and continue to exercise and manage our stress levels.

Also of vital importance is not to neglect getting a reflexology treatment. By neglecting to receive a reflexology treatment you are allowing the body to become more congested, hence whilst you are relaxing on holiday the body sees this as ample opportunity to try and rebalance itself and deal with all of the things it could not do whilst you were rushing around meeting deadlines and the like.

Now that you have done the groundwork, it always pays to be prepared for minor health issues when traveling. Below is a list of my favourite products which you might want to consider adding to your travel first aid kit.

  • Natura Urina - to be taken at the first sign of bladder irritation.

  • Uri-kleer - to stop bladder infections dead in its tracks

  • Natura Diarrho - stops diarrhoea (from that funky street food you ate)

  • Natura Magen - great for alleviating heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, nausea, vomiting and travel sickness

  • For those who are extremely active on their holiday - Natura Injura and Arnica D6 for bruises and muscle strains and sprains

  • Natura Pentagen - for upper respiratory infections (if you are prone to those)

  • Natura Sinfrontal - for sinusitis, post nasal drip and sinus headaches
